Detailed Itinerary of the 6 Days Gorilla and chimpanzee Safari
Day 1: Transfer to Nyungwe National Park.
The tour guide will pick you up in the morning and take you on a picturesque journey to Nyungwe National Park. Along the way, you will stop at the Butare National Museum, the Murambi Genocide Museum, and Nyanza Kings Palace for a cultural tour. In the evening, proceed to Nyungwe for dinner and spend the night there.

Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking and afternoon Forest Canopy walk
Rise early, the forest wakes before sunrise, and so will you. After a light breakfast, you will drive to the Uwinka Visitor Centre, to have a briefing Your ranger guide will brief you on chimpanzee behaviour, trekking etiquette, and what to expect in the rainforest.
Nyungwe Forest National Park is home to more than 500 chimpanzees. Once your group locates the troop, you will be granted one full hour in their company watching them groom, play, forage, and communicate with an intelligence that feels strikingly close to our own. This is one of the most visceral and emotional wildlife encounters available anywhere in Africa.
Back at the lodge for lunch, the afternoon offers a different dimension of the forest altogether. The Nyungwe Forest Canopy Walk — one of only a few in East Africa suspends you up to 70 metres above the forest floor on a series of swaying bridges

Day 3. Transfer to Gisenyi on the shores of L. Kivu
Early morning, you will set off a spectacular drive to Gisenyi on the upper shores of L. Kivu. In the evening, embark on a canoe rid with the singing fishermen on the lake as you enjoy the scenic views of the sun setting over the lake.

Day 4: Boat cruise and transfer to Volcanoes NP
In the morning, you will go for a boat cruise to the hot springs. On return, you will transfer to Volcanoes National Park. The boat cruise can take you to Napoleon Island and view the bats and other bird species. From here drive and transfer to Volcanoes National Park. Check in at your lodge enjoy lunch and then relax at your lodging.

Day 5. Gorilla trekking and afternoon cultural walk
Day 5 leads you very close with the mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. You will wake up on a leisurely breakfast then drive to the park headquarters for a briefing. Ready with your packed lunch, necessary gorilla trekking gears you will dive deep in the jungles to search for these gentle giants. Spend the magical gorilla encounter with the gorillas, later drive back to your lodge to have lunch.
In the evening you will do a cultural stroll to Iby’wachu for cultural visit where you will learn more about the Banyarwanda culture.

Day 6. Golden monkey tracking, transfer back to Kigali.
This is the last day of your 6 days gorillas and chimpanzee tour. Start the day with a cozy breakfast then drive to the briefing point and view the Golden monkeys. Unlike the gorillas, golden monkeys can easily be seen.
After the experience, you will drive back to Kigali and fly out.
