Day 1: Arrival in Kigali Arrival & Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Upon arrival at Kigali our guide will be already waiting for you. He will do a meet & greet services then brief you about your 4 days Rwanda gorillas &golden monkeys safari.

You will then do a city tour visiting all places of importance such as the Kigali Genocide Memorial a place of sober remembrance and extraordinary resilience.

The local craft markets, where Rwandan artisans showcase the country’s textile and basket-weaving traditions.

Then prepare to depart from Kigali for Volcanoes National Park. The two-hour drive winds through Rwanda’s celebrated hills, offering a first, unhurried look at the countryside’s layered greens and terraced farmland.

Dinner is served at the lodge, followed by a detailed briefing on gorilla trekking protocols, safety, and what to expect on the trail the following morning.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Volcanoes National Park

Early Morning

After an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for your trekking briefing. Equipped with appropriate gear, you set off into the montane forest alongside experienced guides and trackers. The duration of the trek varies gorilla families move freely in search of food, water, and shelter so the experience is inherently different each time.

Gorilla Encounter :Upon locating the gorilla family, you are granted one full hour in their presence to observe, to absorb their behaviour, and to photograph them in their natural habitat. It is a rare and deeply affecting encounter.

Return to the lodge for lunch. The afternoon is yours to rest and reflect on the morning’s experience.

Later in the evening have dinner and an overnight stay at your lodging.

Day 3: Golden Monkey Trekking & visit to the Musanze caves.

After breakfast, return to the park headquarters for a briefing on golden monkey trekking. The trek itself is generally shorter and less strenuous than the gorilla hike, though the vivid, acrobatic nature of the golden monkeys makes it every bit as rewarding. These rare primates are found nowhere else on earth.

Return to the lodge for lunch.  After returning from the golden monkey trek and a brief rest, transfer to the Musanze Caves (also known as the Nyakinama Caves), located approximately 2 km from Musanze town centre. These remarkable lava tube caves were formed by volcanic activity from the surrounding Virunga volcanoes thousands of years ago.

In the late evening enjoy dinner at the lodge.

Day 4: Return to Kigali & Departure

Enjoy a leisurely final breakfast before checking out of the lodge. Take a moment to breathe in the park surroundings one last time before the drive back to Kigali. Transfer to Kigali International Airport in time for your onward flight.
