The 7-day Uganda primate and wildlife experience is a perfect journey that immerses you in the natural wonders of Uganda’s primate national parks. This adventure kicks off in Kigali, the capital city of Rwanda, before transferring to Mgahinga National Park, home to both gorillas and golden monkeys.
You will have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to interact with these incredible creatures. From there, you will travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of Uganda’s most iconic parks, renowned for its captivating game drives and scenic boat cruises.
The 7-day tour also takes you to the primate capital of the world, Kibale National Park, where you will engage in chimpanzee habituation, allowing you to learn and spend quality time with them. This itinerary provides a rich blend of primate encounters, classic African wildlife, and unforgettable memories.

Day 1: Arrivalin Kigaliand transfer to Mgahinga national park
Upon your arrival at Kigali airport, our guide representative will be there to welcome and greet you. He will give you a briefing and walk you through the itinerary for your 7-day adventure. After that, you will be transported to Mgahinga National Park using via the Cyanika boarder. Once you arrive, you will check in at the lodge, where you can unwind and enjoy your overnight stay.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking
Today, you have a unique chance to connect intimately with the magnificent gentle giants in their natural habitat. At 8:00 a.m, we will gather for a briefing, so be sure to bring your packed lunch, cameras, water, rain jackets, long trousers, hiking boots, and other essentials. Before venturing into the bush, the rangers will outline the laws and procedures for tracking gorillas. You will embark on a journey into the jungle in groups of eight, navigating challenging terrain and steep hills.
The time it takes to encounter these serene primates can be unpredictable, making strong physical fitness crucial. However, the moment you meet them, you will feel immense joy and fulfillment. You will have one hour to engage with them, allowing you to photograph and closely observe their daily activities.
After your adventure, you will descend and receive awards to celebrate your successful expedition. Following the trip, you’ll head back to your lodge for lunch and some well-deserved relaxation

Day 3: Golden monkey trekking and transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park.
Start your day by enjoying a cup of tea alongside breakfast in the early morning, then head to the Ntebeko park headquarters for your golden monkey trekking adventure.
The trekking experience begins with a briefing from the park rangers, who will inform you about the appropriate behaviour to maintain while interacting with these animals in their natural habitat. Equipped with your hiking gear, you will set off into the jungle in search of the golden monkeys.
Unlike gorillas, these monkeys are easily identifiable due to their bright orange-brown fur. Once you locate them, you will have one hour to engage with them, during which you can take as many flash-free photos as possible.
After your encounter, you will make your way back down to the park headquarters to meet your guide, enjoy lunch, and then depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park, arriving in the late evening. Upon arrival, check in at your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Game drive and boat cruise.
Your day starts with a warm cup of coffee before embarking on the wildlife drive across the Kasenyi plains. You will be astonished by the interactions among the early risers in the wild, as you encounter numerous species that inhabit this area, including Cape buffaloes, lions, elephants, Uganda Kob, topi, Defassa waterbuck, and bush bucks.
Following this, you will return to the lodge where your lunch will be prepared for you to enjoy, after which you can change and set off for a two-hour boat ride along the Kazinga Channel, which presents a wealth of sights, including hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes, and a variety of bird species such as the red chest, papyrus Gonolek, pink-backed pelicans, malachite kingfishers, yellow-crowned night herons, water thick-knees, yellow-billed storks, and shoebill storks.
Afterward, return to the lodge for dinner and relaxation.

Day 5: Transfer to Kibale national park.
In the morning, the safari driver guide will pick you up for your transfer to Kibale National Park. Known as the primate capital of the world, a home to more than 1500 species of primates.
As you travel, take in the beautiful scenery, including the typical setup of African villages in the distant countryside and the tea plantations lining the roads. You may also stop to visit some of the crater lakes before heading to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 6: Chimpanzee Habituation.
Our guide will collect you from the hotel at dawn to begin the chimpanzee habituation experience in Kibale Forest. Kibale Forest National Park, known for its rainy climate, is home to over 1500 chimpanzees, earning it the title of the primate capital of the world.
The chimpanzee habituation process requires an early start to meet the chimps before they emerge from their nests to forage for breakfast.
Throughout the day, you will accompany these animals alongside a team of researchers. This experience offers you the opportunity to learn about these fascinating creatures, allowing you to spend more than four hours in their company.

Day 7: Drive to Entebbe international airport.
In the morning, you will enjoy breakfast before embarking on a 6–7-hour drive to Entebbe, for your flight home. A meal will be enjoyed during the journey, after which you will continue driving to Entebbe airport.
