The 5-day gorilla habituation safari offers an incredible opportunity to immerse yourself in the rare experiences of observing gorillas in their natural environment. You will explore the dense forests of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in the Rushaga sector.

Spend more than 4 hours with the gorillas, witnessing their behaviour and learning about them. After this, you will travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park, where you can encounter a variety of wildlife, including elephants, lions, giraffes, hippos, numerous bird species, and much more.

Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe and transfer to Bwindi National Park.

Upon your arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be greeted by our company representative, and then commence to your destination, which takes approximately 8 to 9 hours by car.

Enjoy a delightful stop at the Equator for breakfast and a memorable photography session. Along the way, enjoy lunch at the Igongo cultural centre in Mbarara. Afterwards, continue your drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, which is home to half of the world’s gorilla population, arriving in the late evening. Check in at your lodge, savour dinner, and enjoy an overnight stay.

Day 2:  Gorilla Habituation

Morning.

After breakfast,  drive to the parks head quarters for a briefing. The briefing entails park rangers equipping trekkers with vast knowledge about the perfect conduct to behave with the gorillas in their natural habitat.

Trek and Observation.

You will set off on your gorilla trek into the native forest in pursuit of the Gorillas. This journey allows you to fully engage with the unique yet personal aspect of the rainforest, where you will hear sounds and vibrant calls of colourful birds together with monkey species.

When you come across these gentle giants, you will spend approximately 4 hours for interaction. This hour includes taking flash-free photos and watching these apes as they carry out their daily routines (such as feeding, sleeping, and nursing, among others). You will still gain deep insights about gorilla behaviour from the expert researchers.

Later in the evening, return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3:  Transfer from Bwindi to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Savour a delicious breakfast in the morning, and set off to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda’s second largest park, featuring stunning lakes, lush forests, expansive savannah grasslands, and vibrant wetlands. We will enter through the Ishasha sector, renowned for its unique tree-climbing lions. Spot other wildlife species such as African elephants, Ugandan kobs, giraffes, and much more.

 On a lucky day, you can encounter numerous animals and birds. From this point, we will drive to the northern section of the park, where your accommodation awaits dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Game drive and evening boat cruise.
Grab a cup of coffee and prepare to uncover the incredible wonders of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Your day begins with an exhilarating game drive along the Kasenyi tracks, where you can spot magnificent species such as lions, Cape buffaloes, elephants, warthogs, waterbucks, spotted hyenas, mongooses, kobs, and, if fortune smiles upon you, the elusive leopard. Return for a delightful lunch, unwind, and gear up for another exciting adventure in the afternoon.

You will embark on a unique 2-hour boat tour along the Kazinga Channel, a natural waterway that connects Lake George and Lake Edward. The Kazinga Channel is home to over 606 different bird species, particularly around its shores.

During your boat cruise, keep an eye out for crocodiles, hippos, buffaloes, various monkey species, and much more. After your boat cruise, head back to your lodge for a delicious dinner and a restful overnight stay.

Day 5: Depart from Queen Elizabeth National Park to Entebbe.

Very early in the morning, as you witness the sun rising amidst the trees, rise from your slumber, enjoy a hearty breakfast, then check out.

After that, make your way to Entebbe, stopping for lunch along the way. Once you arrive in Entebbe, say goodbye to your guide and prepare for your flight. Wishing you safe travels.
