Detailed itinerary

Day 1 of the 5 days Uganda Rwanda gorilla safari: Arrival and transfer to Volcanoes national park

Upon your arrival at the Airport, you are transferred to Kinigi for an overnight; the journey goes through beautiful rolling of Rwanda. Volcanoes national park is home to over 400 mountain gorillas and it’s a place where Dian Fossey lived and cared for the mountain gorillas. Upon arrival, check in at the lodge and then relax for the evening at the lodge. Dinner and overnight at virunga lodge- Half board

Day 2 of the 5 days Uganda Rwanda gorilla safari: Gorilla trekking & Ibyi wacwhu cultural visit

Wake up so early by 6:30am and have breakfast before transferring to the national park head quarters for briefing before trekking. By 8:00am, you will start the hike into the forest with the lead of an armed guide following specific trails in search for the mountain gorillas. After meeting with the gorillas, you will spend an hour with then as you enjoy taking some great photos. After meeting these great endangered species, return to the lodge for a late lunch and then proceed with your visit to the Ibyi wacwhu cultural village to experience the Rwanda culture. You are to be entertained by the local people with songs and dances. After get back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight at virunga lodge. Meal Plan: Full Board

Day 3 of the 5 days Uganda Rwanda gorilla safari: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable national park

Have breakfast at the lodge and then start your journey to Bwindi impenetrable national park famous for the mountain gorillas. You get top cross the border and proceed to Rushaga sector which is the nearest to the border. When you arrive in time, you can visit the nearby communities to enjoy cultural performances and relax at the lodge in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at Rushaga gorilla camp

Day 4 of the 5 days Uganda Rwanda gorilla safari: Gorilla trekking & Batwa community visit

Have breakfast at the lodge and proceed for briefing at the park head quarters about the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking. After, proceed with the rangers to look for these mighty giants in their natural habitats. This search is worth paying since you are given 1 hour when you meet the gorillas to interact and take some photos as well. After the trek, return to the lodge for a late lunch and you prepare to visit the Batwa people to enjoy some cultural dances and music. After get back at the lodge for dinner and overnight at Rushaga gorilla camp

Day 5 of the 5 days Uganda Rwanda gorilla safari: Depart back to Kigali

After breakfast and then start your drive back to Kigali, upon your arrival at Kigali city, you can have a city to the genocide memorial site of Gisozi, Nyamata and Ntarama. Have lunch and then be transferred to the Airport for your departure flight. This marks the end of 5 days Uganda Rwanda gorilla safari
